From Perpignan to the U.S.: The Inspiring Journey of Bruno Aubert and SoleCooler
The American market has long been a beacon for ambitious entrepreneurs, and for Bruno Aubert, a native of Perpignan, France, that dream has become a thriving reality. What fueled his success? Aubert’s story highlights the transformative power of innovation, perseverance, and strategic partnerships, showing how a bold, forward-thinking idea can transcend borders.
In 2018, Aubert launched SoleCooler with a singular goal: to enhance comfort in extreme conditions. His eco-friendly, battery-free insoles, powered by foot pressure to deliver heating or cooling, have since captured the interest of industries ranging from the U.S. military to healthcare.
“For me, innovation is about solving real-world problems,” says Aubert. “When my friend working in freezing warehouses struggled with cold feet, I knew there had to be a better solution. SoleCooler was born from that challenge.”
Building a Bridge from France to America
SoleCooler’s success in the U.S. is rooted in Aubert’s decision to partner with the French-American Chamber of Commerce SoCal (FACC SoCal). “The Chamber’s network has been invaluable,” Aubert explains. “When the FACC SoCal introduces you, it’s not just a name—it’s a door opener. People trust the Chamber’s seal of approval.”
The partnership bore fruit at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, where SoleCooler made significant strides. “We gained over 250 key contacts, and that number doubled the following year,” Aubert recalls. “From meeting U.S. Army representatives to engaging with top footwear brands, the exposure was phenomenal.”
Sylvie Almeri, Managing Director of FACC SoCal, reflects on Aubert’s journey: “Bruno exemplifies the potential of French entrepreneurs in the U.S. His commitment to innovation and sustainability is inspiring, and we’re proud to support his success.”
Innovations That Transform Lives
Aubert’s flagship product, WarnFeet, has garnered attention for its 150 real-time sensors that help monitor foot health. Designed with the U.S. military and diabetic patients in mind, the insoles offer solutions to critical health and operational challenges. “Our insoles don’t just improve comfort; they improve lives,” Aubert emphasizes.
The eco-friendly aspect of SoleCooler’s products is a key selling point. “Our insoles produce no CO2 during use and are fully recyclable,” says Aubert. “Americans value sustainability, and we’ve stayed true to that mission.”
Breaking into the U.S. Military Market
The U.S. Army’s interest in SoleCooler’s technology has been a game-changer. “The military is always on the lookout for innovations that enhance soldier performance,” says Aubert. “Our technology can protect soldiers in extreme environments, and that validation has opened many doors.”
Aubert adds, “Collaborating with the Navy SEALs was another milestone. Their needs push us to innovate further and ensure our products perform under the most demanding conditions.”
A Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, SoleCooler has ambitious plans to expand its footprint in the U.S. “We’re exploring production facilities in five states, and our goal is to launch clinical trials for WarnFeet in New York,” Aubert shares. “The U.S. is a land of opportunity, but you have to bring your best game to succeed.”
Despite his growing success, Aubert remains grounded. “Innovation is a journey, not a destination,” he reflects. “Each step forward reminds me of why I started: to make life better, one insole at a time.”
With additional innovations, including temperature-regulating sleeves for handlebars and new projects on the horizon, Bruno Aubert’s story is far from over. As he puts it, “Success is about persistence, adaptability, and a clear vision. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
