Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, is full of talented performers, but few shine as brightly as comedian Bobby Stikx. Known for his sharp humor, relatable stories, and unique fashion sense, Bobby is starting to make a name for himself in a competitive scene. The stylish comedian bringing joy to Vegas; the story of Bobby Stikx, the city's emerging comedy talent takes a closer look at his path—from the early influences that shaped his humor to his philosophy on comedy and life. With personal anecdotes and real-life experiences, this article reveals how Bobby’s dedication and his motto, “BE LOVELY, NOT UGLY,” have set him apart in Las Vegas' comedy landscape.
"Here we go, and now you know," Bobby Stikx laughs, effortlessly transitioning from a moment of comedic banter into the story of how he earned his memorable stage name. "I always grew up with a lot of nicknames," he recalls. "As a kid, I was called 'Scooter' because I used to scoot around the bed before I could walk. I was always trying to go somewhere."
The name "Bobby Stikx" took form only three years ago when Bobby began working at Vadatech. "One of my friends called out, 'Hey Stick, grab me this thing over here!' He called me that because I'm brown and skinny—like a stick. It just clicked. I thought, 'Bobby Stikx' has a nice ring to it, and I decided to run with it. Now, everyone calls me 'Mr. Stikx.' It’s become a part of me." His voice lights up as he recounts finding a literal stick in a parking lot. "I picked it up, thought to myself, ‘Well, Bobby Stikx found a stick!’ and kept it. It was symbolic—me embracing my identity."

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Bobby's upbringing was a mix of the glitzy allure of the Strip and the vibrant, diverse community behind the neon lights. "Growing up in Las Vegas was exciting as a kid. You see the allure of the casinos and the touristy glamour. My mom always had family visiting who would spend time gambling, so I was around that energy," he reminisces. A chuckle escapes him as he shares a childhood memory, "I remember being put on a cousin's knee at a slot machine and pretending to gamble. I was only three!"
Yet, it wasn’t just the city’s unique atmosphere that shaped him. Bobby credits much of his humor to his grandfather, a larger-than-life figure with an infectious ability to strike up conversations. "He was one of the funniest people I knew," Bobby shares. "He’d make jokes with anyone who would listen." Add in the influence of classic animated shows like Looney Tunes, and it's easy to see where Bobby’s knack for storytelling came from. "Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Speedy Gonzales—they all taught me how to play with humor and keep people on their toes."

Though Bobby’s stage is Las Vegas, his roots stretch deep into the South. His grandfather hailed from Houston, Texas, while his grandmother was from Louisiana. "I still have family in the South," Bobby mentions with warmth. "My grandfather’s nephew still lives in the same house he grew up in back in Houston. It’s grounding to know that history."
Bobby’s Southern ties have instilled a love for the culture and cuisine. "New Orleans is on my list to visit again as an adult. The French Quarter, with its music, energy, and iconic foods like gumbo—oh man, I can’t wait to walk those streets and soak in that vibe," he says with palpable excitement. In true Bobby Stikx fashion, he adds with a grin, "Hey, Louisiana, fly me out. I’m ready to tell y’all some jokes!"
One cannot understand Bobby Stikx without knowing the role his mother played in shaping who he is today. "My mother came to Las Vegas from San Francisco in the mid-70s to study medicine at UNLV. She worked as a nurse at UMC for over 30 years, saving lives and spreading kindness," he says, pride mingling with a touch of melancholy. Bobby lost his mother in 2018, but her legacy lives on in him. "She taught me to be kind, even when people don’t reciprocate. ‘Be lovely, not ugly’—that’s where my catchphrase comes from."
This philosophy, Bobby notes, is the cornerstone of his comedic approach. "Sometimes I might say something on stage that ruffles feathers. But at the end of the day, I remind the crowd, ‘These are just jokes. Be lovely, not ugly.’ And when they echo it back to me, it’s like a shared understanding."

If you’ve ever attended a Bobby Stikx show, one thing stands out before the punchlines even begin—his attire. Whether it’s a sharp suit, a bow tie, or a signature fedora, Bobby’s look is meticulously curated. "I don’t just dress up for the stage; I dress for the job I want. It’s about setting myself apart," he says. "Even some fellow comedians will joke, ‘Bobby’s the best-dressed guy here.’ And it feels good to be noticed."
Bobby likens his presentation to a European aesthetic. "I’ve been told I remind people of European men with my style. Merci, merci," he laughs, giving a nod to the influence of European fashion on his look. "I like to be original. There’s a lot of people trying to be someone else. I’m just trying to be Bobby Stikx."
The attire isn’t just a gimmick; it’s an extension of his persona. "Fashion is the first way we communicate who we are without saying a word. When I step out in a suit and fedora, people know I mean business. It opens doors and opportunities because I stand out. And that’s what I want—to make people pause and say, ‘Who’s that guy?’"
Despite the sharp dress and comedic bravado, Bobby Stikx is a storyteller at heart. His performances weave between humor, heartfelt moments, and a touch of vulnerability. "Comedy for me isn’t just about making people laugh; it’s about connecting," he says. He recalls a particular fan, Saeed, who shared, "Whenever I’m having a bad day, I go see Bobby, and he cheers me right up."
Bobby’s jokes often come with a message. "I might throw in a joke that pokes fun at life, but there’s always a takeaway. Life is tough, and laughter helps us get through it. If I can be the guy who makes someone’s day a little brighter, that’s everything."
Looking ahead, Bobby Stikx dreams of taking his comedy beyond Las Vegas. "I’d love to perform in Austin, Texas—it’s like a comedy mecca now. Plus, my brother lives there, so it’d be a win-win," he says with a hopeful smile. Yet, Bobby remains open to wherever life takes him. "You never know where this journey will go. But I’m here for it, ready and grateful."
And with that, Bobby Stikx, the comedian with a heart full of humor and a suit as sharp as his wit, readies himself for the next stage—wherever that may be. "As long as I can keep saying, ‘Be lovely, not ugly,’ and see people smile, I’ll be doing what I’m meant to do."
