At the center of Miami Art Week is Art Basel Miami Beach, one of the most prestigious art fairs in the world. This event gathers leading galleries, artists, and curators, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Visitors can see the best of the art, with masterpieces rarely seen since they are privately owned, ranging from paintings and sculptures to multimedia installations and interactive experiences.

Beyond Art Basel, Miami Art Week features numerous satellite fairs and exhibitions, each contributing to the rich artistic tapestry of the city. Fairs like SCOPE Miami Beach, Art Miami and its sister fair CONTEXT, NADA, as well as UNTITLED provide platforms for emerging artists and galleries, offering a more intimate and diverse perspective on the art scene.

For the 2023 edition, some celebrities such as Leonardo Di Caprio, Robert de Niro, Pierce Brosnan, his wife Keely Shaye Brosnan, Sean Penn and Will Smith were spotted in the alleys of the major fairs. Famous artists were there for the occasion, including French photographer JR, Australian artist CJ Hendry who presented her first permanent art installation, and Sebastian Errazuriz, the talk of the town with his AI created sand maze on the beach of the Faena Hotel.

Exhibitions are held in cultural institutions such as established museums as The Bass, or the Perez Art Museum as well as cutting edge institutions such as The MUD Foundation, presenting projects that delve into the relationship between the internet, extended reality (XR), and the democratization of art creation.
One of the other highlights of Art Week Miami includes the fourth edition of the city-produced and curated No Vacancy, Miami Beach, which matches 12 artists with 12 iconic Miami Beach hotels.
Miami Art Week is also the integration of art into public spaces. Across the city, visitors can encounter large-scale installations, murals, and sculptures that bring art out of traditional gallery settings. These public art displays contribute to the immersive experience of Miami Art Week, inviting people to engage with art in unexpected ways.
Miami Art Week goes beyond buying and selling art—it becomes a melting pot of ideas, where artists and attendees explore creativity, culture, and contemporary issues together.
